Senior Accountant

This Senior Accountant role sits within an assurance practice, handling bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and tax compliance for a mix of individual and corporate clients. You will work autonomously on most assignments, with senior review on compilation and review engagements.

What you will be doing

• Maintain books for clients with investment portfolios, post adjusting entries, and draft financial statements
• Prepare personal income tax returns and corporate tax returns for eligible entities
• Complete T4 and T5 slips, sales tax returns, and other statutory filings
• Perform compilation engagements and assist with sections of review engagements under supervision
• Organize client files, understand client-specific requirements, and liaise with tax authorities as needed

What the role requires

• Collegial diploma in accounting or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of general accounting experience in a public accounting firm
• Full-cycle accounting and adjustment entries
• Personal and corporate tax preparation experience
• Fluent in English
