Senior Accountant

This Senior Accountant role involves managing audit engagements from planning through completion, preparing assurance and tax deliverables, and mentoring junior staff. You will work with a diverse client base across multiple sectors, taking ownership of fieldwork budgets, client meetings, and engagement quality. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to communicate financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

What you will be doing

• Manage audit teams and client engagements, including planning fieldwork budgets and resources
• Prepare and sign off on audit files and reports
• Prepare notice to readers, assurance engagements, personal and corporate tax returns, HST returns, and government filings
• Mentor and provide training to junior accounting personnel
• Communicate financial performance analysis, including key drivers, trends, and variations, to support business decisions
• Monitor and evaluate business performance using reporting and analytics
• Maintain client relationships through professional written and verbal communication

What the role requires

• CPA designation
• 1 to 5 years of post-designation experience
• Proficiency with accounting software including Word, Excel, CaseWare, CaseView, and TaxPrep
• Public accounting experience considered an asset
