The Valuation Associate will work on business valuation assignments across multiple contexts including financial reporting, tax and estate planning, matrimonial matters, shareholder disputes, and transaction support. This role involves preparing valuation reports, conducting research, and taking sole responsibility for smaller engagements while collaborating with analysts and students on larger assignments.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in the preparation of business valuation reports for various purposes including fair value assessments, purchase price allocations, and impairment testing
  • Take sole responsibility for completing smaller valuation engagements from initiation through delivery
  • Conduct valuation-related research including industry transaction analysis, valuation multiples, economic data, and industry-specific information
  • Coordinate with analysts and students to complete valuation assignments
  • Perform valuations for tax and estate planning, matrimonial matters, shareholder disputes, due diligence, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Value financial derivatives as required for client engagements

What the role requires

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Prior experience at a public accounting firm or investment research firm
  • Strong research and report-writing skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin
  • Enrollment in the CPA or CBV program is an asset
