This Controller role oversees financial operations for a real estate debt business, serving as a key business partner to investment teams and leadership. The position requires leading financial reporting, implementing systems and controls, and managing process improvements in a growing organization undergoing continuous operational change. The role demands strong technical accounting expertise, team leadership, and the ability to build relationships across corporate stakeholders.

What you will be doing

• Lead financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with IFRS standards
• Develop and maintain internal financial controls and frameworks
• Manage and mentor accounting team members
• Drive implementation projects, process optimization and enhancement initiatives
• Oversee valuation processes and financial statement preparation
• Partner with business teams and corporate stakeholders on financial matters
• Troubleshoot financial reporting issues and improve systems and procedures

What the role requires

• CPA designation with minimum ten years of accounting experience
• Strong in-depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and complex accounting for public companies
• Experience with large enterprise resource planning systems in the real estate sector
• Proven track record leading initiatives, managing teams, and driving organizational change
• Advanced technical skills including financial reporting systems, business intelligence tools, and advanced spreadsheet capabilities
• Public accounting experience is an asset
