Senior Accountant - Audit

This Senior Accountant role focuses on independently managing audit and review engagements for owner-managed clients, ensuring compliance with ASPE. The position involves leading engagements from planning through execution, supervising junior staff, and maintaining client relationships while managing multiple projects concurrently.

What you will be doing

• Independently plan, execute, and lead audit and review engagements
• Analyze financial statements and manage risk assessments
• Prepare corporate tax returns
• Supervise and mentor junior staff to ensure quality and efficiency
• Maintain and develop client relationships, understanding their business goals
• Prepare detailed reports and memos with appropriate accounting conclusions
• Manage multiple projects while monitoring deadlines and budgets

What the role requires

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
• CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program
• At least 4 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on assurance and audit
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting and Auditing Standards
• Proficiency in MS Office, CaseWare, and other accounting software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
