This role leads the consolidation and analysis of financial results from over 50 global reporting entities, supporting both internal and external reporting requirements under IFRS standards. The position is responsible for maintaining accounting records across multiple international subsidiaries, performing monthly global consolidations, and serving as an internal technical accounting resource. This is a hands-on role requiring strong systems knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot complex accounting and reporting issues.
What you will be doing
- Maintain accounting records for multiple global subsidiaries, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and foreign currency translation
- Perform monthly consolidation of global results, including consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, and cash flow preparation
- Conduct technical analysis of complex IFRS matters such as revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, financial instruments, and pension accounting
- Review trial balances and prepare statutory annual financial statements with supporting working papers
- Provide accounting guidance to regional teams and ensure adherence to global accounting policies
- Develop new tools, templates, and reporting enhancements aligned with evolving IFRS standards
- Prepare quarterly board and executive presentation materials
What the role requires
- CPA designation with minimum 5 to 6 years post-designation experience
- Experience with multinational public companies in Canada or the United States
- Strong experience with consolidation systems such as Hyperion or similar platforms
- Extensive technical IFRS knowledge with strong research capabilities
- Experience with enterprise ERP systems required
- Advanced Excel skills including macros and strong overall IT proficiency
